With their new third cd `Chronicles Of A Dark Machine’, the London based power trio Kyrbgrinder do give a unique perspective on the genre progressive metal. Their sound is gritty and direct but at the same time they rock and they get funky in a memorable melodic way. It’s like a straight punch in the face, while their playing technique is puzzling you for days. Threshold’s drummer Johanne James shows why he is awarded five times in a row, but he even surprises more being such a powerful but yet pleasant melodic lead singer and writing meaningful lyrics. The smooth but technical playing of Aaron Waddingham will stun guitar freaks and the songs themselves will stuck in your mind forever.
