Live | King King – Flexiforum Live-Kerkrade [NL]

27 September 2024

On Friday, September 27, Scottish Blues Rock giants King King visited the Flexiforum Live in Kerkrade. This show was the third Rock oriented show at the Flexiforum and I must say that they managed to fill the hall quite well.

Fair is fair, the gentlemen of King King don’t deserve less than a full house because they ALWAYS deliver quality.

Alan Nimmo

The always good-humored and charismatic singer/guitarist Alan Nimmo, as always in Scottish kilt, told me that he has actually been carrying a nasty cold with him all tour. That might be evident off-stage, once on stage he manages to blow everyone away again with his powerful soulful voice.

The lighting and sound in the Flexiforum is again more than excellent. The band is having a great time and manages to charm the audience with their beautiful songs. Which are at their best live.

NEW DRUMMER

The new drummer, Mr. Jon Lodge, mastered the set for this tour in no time and feels like a fish in water. He, along with bassist Zander Greenshields, lays down the foundation for the rest of the band. Keyboardist Jonny Dyke lets his keys and especially Hammond set the right mood. And brothers Alan and Stevie Nimmo manage to enchant the audience with their guitar playing.

Anyone who has had the opportunity to see King King at work in recent years will emphasize that they never disappoint live and that was certainly the case again in Kerkrade. It was just another top performance and these gentlemen wouldn’t go for less. This is a live band and their harmony vocals impress once again.

Jonny Dyke

If you haven’t seen this band at work yet and love bands like Thunder or early Whitesnake, then King King is a band you must see. Bands like these are rare and should be cherished.

This evening in Kerkrade was another one that goes into the books as an impressive and successful show.
