Review | Crazy Lixx – Thrill Of The Bite
Frontiers Music srl
Danny Rexon and his Crazy Lixx men report back with ‘Thrill Of The Bite’. Three years after their album ‘Street Lethal’, these Swedes come up with a brand new album.
If anyone thinks these melodic rockers will change their musical style or genre even slightly. Think again. Crazy Lixx invariably stands for melodic rock!!! With a heavy hankering for the 80s. And they do so with full confidence.
Tasty riffs, great choruses, pumping drums and bass, wonderful guitar soloing and all that under the leadership of a fine vocalist in the person of Rexon. Crazy Lixx is definitely a prolific band, as they also recently released ‘Two Shots At Glory’. With partly new songs but mostly old songs re-recorded.
A BUSY LITTLE BEE
Mr. Rexon is a busy little bee anyway, because in addition to Crazy Lixx he is also responsible for the songs of British rock singer Chez Kane. Anyway, what does this latest effort of Crazy Lixx album bring us? At least a new man behind the drum kit. Robin Nilsson, who we may also know from The Cruel Intensions is now brought in for the beat of Crazy Lixx. However, this does not mean that he stops working with TCI, as he also remains a member of this band.
Furthermore, we can once again rely on Jens Lundgren – guitar, Chrisse Olsson – guitar and Jens Andersson – bass. Before the complete album is released in early February, the five piece released some previews in the form of ,,Call Of The Wild’’, ,,Little Miss Dangerous’’ [a little bit Cooper vibe here] and ,,Midnight Rebels’’. And really, those songs already tell a bit of what to expect from the Swedes in 2025.
CRAZY LIXX – THE CONCLUSION
Fans of the band can be licking their fingers in advance, because this is indeed a melodic rock machine. Whether it is all new or original does not matter much, because it all sounds catchy and melodic.
We may therefore conclude that Crazy Lixx is here to stay [since 2002] and actually always manages to put together a quality product. Fans of the band can buy this product blind again. Live, songs like ,,Little Miss Dangerous’’ or ,,Who Said Rock N’ Roll Is Dead’’ will be a nice addition to the band’s set.
Tasty record.
