Review | Tremonti – The End Will Show Us How

Napalm Records

Tremonti’s previous album ‘Marching In Time’, was one of the best metal/hard rock albums of the year 2021 and now Mark Tremonti, celebrated guitar picker and singer, known of course for his great work with Alter Bridge and Creed, “returns” with his sixth solo album called: ‘The End Will Show Us How’.

IMPRESSIVE METAL TREAT

Tremonti’s band consists of Eric Friedman (guitars), Tanner Keegan (bass guitar), Ryan Bennet (drums) and of course Mark Tremonti himself, on guitar and vocals. Right from the start, as you listen to the opening track ,,The Mother, The Earth And I” you know that you are in for an impressive metal treat. That spectacular track sets the tone for the album with intricate, fierce electric guitar picking, powerful drums and a glorious guitar solo in the end! Follow up ,,One More Time” is really powerful and the lyrics – dealing with the end of the world or the end of times – are politically speaking very “worrying” and interesting with obvious relevance to the modern political climate in the US; this song also ends with a wonderful passionate and soaring guitar solo by Mark.

THE HIGHLIGHTS

,,Just Too Much” is the first single of this album and it is packed with memorable riffs/hooks and 100% anthemic, catchy choruses; also check out the impressive video of this track! Other highlights include: ,,The Bottom” (a track with heavy instrumentation and upbeat guitar lines), ,,Tomorrow We Will Fail” (impassioned vocals and very tight playing), ,,Now That I’ve Made It” (a 100% power anthem and future live staple)!

The last song of this amazingly good album is called: ,,All The Wicked Things” and that song starts with almost scary, dystopian sounding synthesizers, before the guitars burst into this formidable track and make you want to play along and “scream” along as loud as you can. What a way to end an album, as I am sure that ‘The End Will Show Us How’ is definitely the best and most potent Tremonti album so far, packed with technical prowess and true memorable song writing. A fantastic metal album with infectious, addictive riffs, soaring melodies, awesome guitar solos and stunning lyrics.

TREMONTI – THE CONCLUSION

Mark Tremonti’s comment: “Of course, I hope this is your favourite Tremonti album when you listen to it.” And, yes, Mark, it surely is, I am rather addicted to it, in fact. Listening tip: ,,One More Time” and play it LOUD.

Looking forward to see/hear Tremonti in Tilburg on February 3rd!
